Ana Vieira_Journal #2 - Perception in Lighting_Part I

This past weekend I went to Eataly in the Prudential Center and decided to use it for this week’s journal since I think the spaces there have really good lighting. The lighting system in general is very successful on creating elegant ambiance for diners, providing well-lit kitchens and also on pleasantly rendering their products.
For general lighting and sales area illumination, there are track-mounted spotlights which fill the area with bright, warm and refreshing light, and give visual clarity for the space and also the sense of spaciousness.
The merchandise is also effectively illuminated, and it contributes to the create the sense of spaciousness besides enhancing the product appearance.
The lighting in the dining areas give a more refined and relaxing ambiance. Here, the light is dim and subtle, which also gives the feeling of privacy.
