The below images are from the Hub 51 restaurant in Chicago where I recently had brunch. I think the lighting was well done and enhanced the environment and dining experience. In terms of the Flynn Attributes, the lighting scheme:
- Provided a good amount of visual clarity
- Made the large space feel somewhat cozy/confined (in a good way)
- Was pleasing / comfortable (preference)
- Felt lively yet relaxing
- Not especially private
In terms of the Flynn Modes, I believe the lighting scheme was leveraging:
- A good level of brightness suitable to dining
- Non-uniform arrangements to create visual interest and dynamics
- A balance of central and perimeter lighting
- Warm, cozy color temperatures
