Ambient Layer
During the day the front of the store is flooded with daylight.
At night and at the back of the store ambient light is provided by fluorescent.

Task Layer
The task of picking out vegetable, by looking at there color, is enhanced by the spot lights.

Decorative Layer
The bright red letters of the exit sign are designed to draw attention to themselves.

Ambient Layer
Large windows provide ambient light during the day.

Task Layer
Pendent lights at the counters provide extra light for interaction.

Accent Layer
The lights in the soda cooler make the cans easy to read.




Starbucks

Ambient Layer
Recessed cans provide overall lighting.

Task Layer
Pendent lights over the table give extra light for reading.

Accent Layer
The many spots on the menu board encourage customer to buy, buy, buy.
