For this week’s journal I decided to use BAC’s Loft
space to exemplify poor lighting. This is essentially a space in the school where
the students eat, relax, use as a meeting point and, above all, work on their assignments.
However, I consider it to be very poorly lit, especially at night, when you don’t
have natural light coming in. The ambient light is insufficient to create visual
clarity and it makes the space look a bit cramped. The task light that comes
from the ceiling track system creates glare and is also badly positioned, which
also contributes to a non-uniform and uncomfortable light in that space.
