Gloria Asaba Kiiza _ Layers of lighting

For this journal that's looking at different layers of light am exploring a few of the lighting options at my workplace.  Most of the space is lit by natural light but never the less, there is still a need for extra lighting especially in the spaces that are further from the windows and also at times when it gets dark before the end of a workday.

In addition to the Daylight layer, the spaces also use several wall-mounted lights throughout the space so that they can provide the required ambient layer of light to the spaces to allow for the various activities in the space to take place.

The Kitchen space has 3 layers of spaces lighting it up in addition to the natural light.  Layer one is the ambient lighting that's being provided by the wall mounted lights in the hall. Layer two is the decorative layer that is using a multiple bulb pendant light to provide the lighting.  The third layer is the task lighting that is under the kitchen cabinets. These are stip L.E.D. Lights that are recessed under the upper wall cabinets.

This Space also has 3 layers of lighting. The ambient layer from the wall mounted lights, The daylight layer from the windows and finally a task layer on the desk. The Task layer is being provided by a desk mounted light that is turned on when needed and off when not necessary.
