Photo #1: My work, Post Office Square, Boston MA:  General lighting is displayed from the gathering of pendant lighting over the sofa. Accent lighting comes from the cove lighting at the floor & ceiling level to express way finding in and out of the office. Decorative lighting radiates from the wall inlay on the wall to the left because it does not give off enough light to be substantial in finding your way or doing tasks. All three of these layers of light work together to create a cohesive and inviting entrance to Unispace.

Photo #2: TD Garden, Boston MA: Several layers of light are expressed throughout the Boston arena. Accent lighting helps fans & the public find the exits to vendors and bathrooms every few yards which is a universal exit for people who may not be familiar with the arena. decorative lighting is given off from thin bands of screens around the circumference of the arena. The bands do not give off off enough light to see the ground to find your way around the stadium, but may assist in general way finding around the arena. General lighting is given off from the square jumbotron in the middle of the arena which can display logos, score of the game and a live feed of the game below. The jumbotron can give off enough light to dimly light the surrounding arena.

Photo #3: My Grandma's kitchen, Granby CT: In my Grandma's kitchen there are various layers of light. The most noticeable being the general light given off by the boxed light on the ceiling. Task lighting is given off from the light above the stove which can help with cooking. Decorative lighting is given off from candle in front of me because it is not enough light to do any tasks but still gives off an ambience that adds to the space.
